Description
This 1958 Ford Panel Truck is a long-term project and seldom-seen example that was purchased by the seller 34 years ago and subsequently stored in a climate-controlled building for the duration of ownership. Body and paintwork were completed in the early 1990s and have remained exceptionally well-preserved thanks to consistent indoor storage and careful upkeep.
The truck received significant suspension and driveline updates approximately four years ago. The front end utilizes a Fat Man Fabrications Mustang II setup paired with Aldan American coilovers, while the rear features a refurbished C4 Corvette assembly with matching Aldan American coilovers, new U-joints, wheel bearings, and brakes.
All exterior and interior lighting is said to function properly, including high and low beams, dash illumination, turn signals, hazards, and brake lights. A full set of new gauges has been installed; all operate as intended except for the fuel gauge.
The cabin is outfitted with Cadillac SRX front seats equipped with integrated seatbelts. The seats remain in excellent condition with no noted rips or tears.
Power is provided by a refreshed Chevrolet 350ci V8 that starts easily, runs well, and maintains strong oil pressure. Steering is currently manual; however, the truck is equipped with a new Saginaw pump and a power rack. Installation of the rack will require a frame-notch expansion to provide proper clearance.
This vintage panel truck blends classic Ford styling with modernized suspension components and a dependable small-block V8, offering a unique platform for continued enjoyment or further customization. A walk-around and running-video is provided in the link below.
